- Eclipse. When years ago IBM launched Eclipse I must confess that I was very skeptical. But it was a great success. Eclipse continues to evolve. With additions like this that leave the office obsolete. Eclipse is the basis for different programming Frameworks (Java, PHP, ....). And growing.

- Lotus Notes / Domino. There is still much work to do. Everyone agrees that IBM is making great efforts. The transition from C + to a multiplatform language like Java is not exactly an easy task. Lotus Notes 8.5.1 today is proof of that great effort by IBM engineers. Oh, and Lotus Notes Personal Edition would be a great pump for Lotusphere 2010. Isn't it?

- Lotus Designer. Unlocking the product has been another great success for IBM. Now customers are clamoring for Lotus Designer on other platforms. From "Built on Eclipse" to "Ready for Eclipse". That is, we want to forget Windows and work directly on our Mac or our Linux. Customers are clamoring for it. And If I was a Lotus Manager, I will join with IBM Workplace Forms. That would be a superb product.

- Lotus Traveler. The whole success of product and continues to evolve. According to Ed Brill, Lotus Traveler is being cooked for Linux servers. Excellent menu.

- Lotus Sametime. Well, I will be brief here. In short, I'm going to imitate Ed Brill. "Sametime 8.5 is more than a mantenaince release" Me, patent pending, :-). I want one. IBM has big plans for the future of Sametime.

- Lotus Quickr. Many customers continue to have great confusion with Lotus Quickr product. Portal or Domino version? Lotus customers appreciate the easy to deploy of Lotus products but Websphere still lacks something. IBM perhaps should take a look at the competition. For example, when you install a lot of M$ products you take inside a SQL Server Express in many products but users are not aware of it. Perhaps IBM's strategy was wrong. Instead of taking two different versions of Quickr, should have only taken IBM DB2 and would act as a Quickr Portal Trojan horse on a Domino server and so value for money for its investment in NSFDB2. Ok, it's my opinion. But what's clear to me there should be only a brand of Quickr product.

- Lotus Foundations. Although I haven't found time still to try the product, I'm sure it has been a success. And, if not, why Microsoft has copied the name of the product?

- Lotus Connections. What can I say about this great product? The faster growing product.Well, IBM,think in medium and small businesses. Something like Lotus Connections Express. If we have Domino Express, WebSphere Portal Express, why not Lotus Connections Express?

- OpenNTF. Every time I see a Niklas Heidloff's blog post "New OpenNTF Project" in PlanetLotus, I'm celebrating by opening a bottle of Catalan cava (champagne). The IBM Blog template from Steve Castledine (oh, my God, how much it cost me to pronounce and spell this surname) has been the starting gun for a new generation of Lotus Notes templates. Templates are a key part in the added value of Lotus Notes and essential to the success and progress of the product. We want more.

- Lotus Symphony. It was a great success by IBM. Customers also want to Symphony in the cloud. In other words, synchronize the documents with a website. IBM should buy zoho.com and fill some gaps. The fundamental key is that Symphony use open standards document formats.

- Notesdesignblog. What can I say about this Lotus team? Should have "branches" in other IBM products. Tivolidesignblog, Websphere designblog, ..... Please extend the model to other products. Excellent teamwork, Notesdesignblog.

There is much work to do. But, definitely, IBM and Lotus are on the right way.

Greetings from a happy customer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Eclipse.

De "Built on Eclipse" a "Ready for Eclipse".

- Lotus Sametime. Bueno, aquí seré breve. En resumen, voy a imitar a Ed Brill. "Sametime 8.5 is more than a mantenaince release" La patente es mía, eh, :-) . I want ONE.

Primero pon la versión en castellano and tell to english people that their version is just below the spanish version ... :-D

Reg.... Estoooo ... Saludos.
